"Michelle, Windsor " Rennie Ellis, 1978
Hope you've been driving around in kingswoods without any knickers on wearing amazing frocks. I think the one pictured here is by Jenny Bannister...nice huh?...which reminds me i still want to do a fashioney post because its a continual source of superficial joy for me. Anyways I've been a bit distracted and busy with little whirring sounds and neurotic infomercials crowding my head. sigh. So this post is going to be a bit short and sweet and musical and with some little snaps from around the house and down the street
here we go... la la la...trot trot..whirrr whirrrr
looking at the autumn colours....
apparitions, abstract art, cryptic codes
whizzzzzzz...birrrrrr
thinking bout things we shouln't still be doing but find intriguing...
And combing piles of junk for hidden treasures. Nothing here I'am afraid. This brain is a restless thing sometimes.. When its really noisy and full maybe all you can really do is listen to some really noisy things! Yeah..thats a good idea huh? Howzabout the Circle Jerks?
yeah!
or maybe we can fashion some homemade T-shirts in homage to time when there wasn't really alot of music "merch" so it was a bit more DIY if you really liked a band.
If you go back to the beginning of this blog I mentioned that i was in a sort of band but we didn't play much but i made some posters..well this is one of them..it's a linocut thats why it looks scratchy.
this is our set list and some really cool hairy boots i had once..hehe not really but maybe i'll include the lyrics of one of our songs. Its from Joan Vollmers point of view after she got shot in the head by her husband,William Burroughs whilst playing "William Tell". It goes like this and i think it shall be called "Untitled"
Well its a crazy night in this big ole city
and i'm standing with a blue dress on
and my! your eyes look so wild and pretty
standing there with your shiney gun
if there ever was a lightening storm
you'd seek it out just to keep you warm
but tonight, tonight i think our love has gone
away
I'm now so faraway
didn even wanna play
but theres still one thing i'd like to say
and thats
"hey its all in the past
coz i kinda knew today
would be my last"
See i've found all these little doodles and scraps because I've been rearranging the bookshelves which is strangely comforting and a good autumnal pastime too...when you get a bit tired of listening to music that is...which isn't very often i guess
Thinking about a time when maybe the inside of your house and head might look a little like this...kinda worldly and serene and organised and goldeny......mmmm
Think i'll end with a nice uplifting track to keep in theme (?! was there one?)...bye for now..my head will be a little more interesting soon. Promise x
